Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get a Botox treatment?

Botox is one of the most widely available aesthetic treatments. And the most studied. Simply put, Botox treatments:

  • Improve the appearance of frown lines, forehead furrows, crow’s feet, bunny lines, and more
  • Prevent new lines and wrinkles from forming
  • Produce natural-looking results that can, when given by a trained professional,  last for months
  • Provide a fast and easy refresh to your face without surgery and with  minimal recovery time

Also, Botox treatments are FDA-approved and have been widely studied, demonstrating safety and effectiveness.

How much Botox will I need?

Every patient is different, and our clinical staff will work with you to determine the optimal number of units to get you the results you want. Our board-certified provider will do a full assessment with you to determine the best course to deliver the results you want.

On average, you can expect about this many units for each of the following procedures:

  • Glabellar or Frown Lines: Between 16 and 20 units
  • Eyebrow Lift: Between 10 and 15 Units
  • Forehead:  Between 12 and 20 Units
  • Crow’s Feet: Between 12 and 24 Units

What is the difference between these Botox options?

All of these products use the same neuromodulator, onabotulinumtoxinA , to treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and other areas of the face. Botox and Xeomin are just brand names of the same toxin. For many patients, the difference is brand recognition and personal experience and comfort with one product over another.   We offer all three to provide choice and a range of prices.

Which product lasts the longest?

There’s no definitive answer to this question. Our treatments typically last around 3-4 months, with some patients experiencing slightly longer or shorter durations depending on factors like individual metabolism, injection technique, and muscle strength.

Is Botox by another name still just Botox?

Yes, Botox is Botox, whether it is Botox or any other product. Why? Glad you asked: While Letybo and Botox are different products from different manufacturers, they both utilize a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This protein temporarily disrupts the communication between nerves and muscles, so that, when injected by a trained provider into targeted areas, these neuromodulators block the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger responsible for muscle contractions. With relaxed muscles, the overlying skin smoothens, leading to a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Whew, we got science in there for you. Just like 8th grade, all over again, right?

Which is the best choice?

Botox and Letybo are very effective at diminishing wrinkles. The appropriate choice depends on the specific area being treated, your desired outcome, and your response to the medication. This is why we carry both products and why our clinical staff works with each patient individually to assess their needs and recommend the most suitable treatment option.

What product do we recommend?

Whether they admit it or not, every parent has their favorite kid. Sure, we love them all, but one is just more special. We feel that way about Letybo. We love Botox, but we love Letybo just a little more. Why? Well, while both Xeomin and Botox are injectables that use botulinum toxin to reduce wrinkles, Xeomin is a “pure” form of the toxin without accessory proteins. Why does this matter? Studies show that this purer form of the toxin may reduce the risk of the body developing resistance to the treatment over time.

But you don’t need to take our word for it, you can read about it here, and here,

How does Botox work?

Botox and Leytbo both work by temporarily blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that signals muscles to contract. By relaxing these muscles, Botox treatments soften the appearance of wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions.

We take Botox therapy very seriously. It’s your face, and we don’t take that lightly. Decades of clinical evidence strongly support that, when used by a trained medical professional, Botox treatments are both safe and effective.
